Exhibition of photographic still lifes in the Stroganov Palace
The branch of the Russian Museum will present the work of more than forty domestic photographers made in the genre of still life.
At the dawn of the era of photography, slow shutter speeds and low sensitivity did not allow moving subjects to be shot. Under such conditions, still lifes have become one of the main objects of photography.
With the development of photographic equipment, new genres appeared and mastered, and the still life had to make room. However, it has not disappeared, and modern photographers, like their predecessors, still appeal to this genre. Someone’s works resemble creations of the golden age of still life, while someone, on the contrary, adheres to strict minimalism. Visitors to the Still Life in Photography exhibition starting this Thursday will be able to make up their minds about this genre.
