SPIEF-2019 opens in St. Petersburg

SPIEF-2019 opens in St. Petersburg today, June 6. For three days - until June 8 - representatives of the business community will discuss the problems of climate change and the growth of social inequality, will touch upon the development of digital technologies and the prospects for the Russian and global economy.

This year, the motto of the XXIII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is “Forming the Agenda for Sustainable Development”.

The events of the first day of the forum will start at 9:00 and continue until 19:00. The program includes many thematic events - visiting sessions, business forums, meetings, meetings of businessmen - and a separate cultural block.

The grand opening of SPIEF-2019 is scheduled for 13:00. Acting Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov will address the forum participants with a welcoming speech. Also, guests will enjoy speeches by the UN Secretary General Anthony Guterres, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Tigran Sargsyan, President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon, Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Anton Siluanov, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Van Bin and Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia Ulzijsayhan Enkhtuvshin.

The business program of today includes more than 70 events.
