Akademicheskaya metro station will open on Monday after 11 months of repair

On Monday, the Akademicheskaya metro station will be opened after major repairs, the press service of the St. Petersburg subway reports. The updated station will open the doors for passengers on July 1 at 5:35.
Repair of the station lasted 11 months. During this time, builders repaired escalators, modernized their control systems, restored slope waterproofing with the replacement of old drainage umbrellas with modern ones.
At the station, the systems of intelligent video surveillance and access control were updated, the heating, ventilation, water supply, wastewater, cable network, power supply and electric lighting systems were completely replaced.
With the opening of the Academic, buses number 61, 102, 153, 178, K-9, K-72, K-93, K-131, K-193, K-278A return to their original routes.
After July 1, trams of routes 38 and 61 will continue to operate along existing routes: No. 38: “Mechnikov Avenue - Kushelevka Station”, No. 61: “Suzdal Avenue - Vyborgskaya Metro”.
This spring, Acting Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov checked the progress of repairs and ordered the station to open on July 1.
