Petersburg rivers and canals will be cleaned of garbage

Smolny has announced an auction to clean city water bodies from waste. To bring rivers and canals in order, 224 million rubles will be needed, it follows from the data on the public procurement website.

The winners of six auctions will take care of cleaning water from debris in 18 districts of the city. They have to not only get pollution from canals and rivers, but also mow all aquatic plants in the summer.

Garbage will be sent to landfills, which should be located at least 30 kilometers from the water. Applications for tenders are submitted before November 19, on this day the authorities will announce contractors.

Mostotrest said when the St. Petersburg crossings will be reconnoitered for the last time this year.
